Free FHO Scheduling Tool
A free browser-based scheduling tool for Ontario FHO leads and administrators. Set up your group, physician availability, absences, exclusions and temporary locum coverage, then generate a balanced evening and weekend rotation and adjust it before sharing.
No account is required. Your scheduling information stays in the current browser session unless you choose to save the setup file yourself.

Enter the number of physicians and scheduling period. The tool calculates the evening and weekend coverage baseline used for the schedule and supports the applicable qualifying-exemption and Northern/rural settings built into the scheduler.

Add names or initials, preferred or unavailable days, dates away, shift exclusions and temporary locum coverage.

Choose the weekly coverage pattern and generate assignments that balance evening and weekend duties while respecting availability and avoiding automatic consecutive-weekend assignments.

Edit or swap assignments, lock shifts you want to preserve, update the schedule while retaining valid assignments, or deliberately generate a new rotation. Export the result as CSV, iCalendar or a printable schedule.
The scheduler runs entirely in your browser below. Work through the steps to set up your group, add physicians, generate a rotation, and adjust the result.
When physician availability or coverage settings change, Update schedule keeps existing valid assignments wherever possible and recalculates only what needs to change. When a completely different rotation is wanted, New schedule deliberately rebuilds the assignments from the current settings.
A locum can be linked to a specific physician for a defined date range. During that period the schedule identifies the locum as covering that physician's shifts while keeping the underlying rotation responsibility with the regular physician.
The completed schedule can be exported as CSV, downloaded as iCalendar events or printed. The group setup can also be saved as a DrPlus JSON setup file and loaded again later. Saving the setup stores your inputs and settings, not the generated schedule assignments.
The scheduler's built-in evening and weekend coverage baseline follows Ontario MOH INFOBulletin 220502, effective July 1, 2022.
FHO Scheduler is an administrative planning tool provided by Dr. Plus Physician Services Inc. It is not an official Ontario Ministry of Health system. The tool helps organize coverage using the information entered and the published scheduling baseline implemented in the application. FHO groups remain responsible for confirming current Ministry requirements, their signed agreement, applicable exemptions, holiday arrangements, Northern/rural provisions and the accuracy of the final schedule before circulation.
